With Tulip Time well underway in Bowral, spring fever is in the air. The famous Tulip Time Parade is on today through the main street in Bowral at 3pm. Get along to see it – it really is special. It is when Southern Highlands community spirit is in full bloom as well!
In keeping with the the spring theme, my garden is also getting into the spirit, so I thought I’d share some of the colour with you.
One of the things that I love sharing with my kids in the Southern Highlands is the great kids shows that come to Mittagong RSL. It also means they can also enjoy the concerts with all their friends too!
It seems that each year now Play School and Dorothy the Dinosaur pay us a visit.
So time to get excited – Dorothy the Dinosaur’s Rockin’ Christmas Show is coming to Mittagong RSL on 13 December 2011.
Dorothy and friends will meet Santa Claus in this festive show with all our favourite Christmas songs.
But get your tickets now as they’re selling like Hot Potatoes! Tickets $20 each, available from Mittagong RSL’s reception. Contact: 02 4872 6700
Sadly there will be no Harvest Hunt at Easter this year in the Southern Highlands.
We had so much fun at the past two years’ events at Centennial Vineyard and Southern Highland Wines. Apparently they couldn’t find a venue to take it on this year.
I hope it will come back again – a great way to spend Easter with the family!
Harvest Hunt put on another fabulous day out for the family on Easter Sunday, with kids in chocolate induced comas and big kids wishing they were little kids again for a day!
Southern Highland Wines hosted the event this year, with 20,000 Cadbury chocolate eggs for the taking, egg & spoon races, rides for the kiddies, as well as food and entertainment.
Of course, a trip to a vineyard would not be complete without some tasting thrown in for the big kid fun.
With the sun shining in fully glory, it was a fabulous day out with the kids. Looking forward to next year!
Never fear, the big Easter Harvest Hunt is still here …………. this year it is at Southern Highland Wines!
I was so disappointed when I found out Centennial Vineyard wasn’t doing it again this year, as big and small kids all had so much fun last year. But thankfully it has found a new home.
Sponsored by Cadbury’s, thousands and thousands of chocolate eggs will be for the taking on the day! Farm animals, egg painting, egg & spoon races, rides and the all important wine will also add to the festivities for the day.
Further details can be found at Harvest Hunt
For those of you who enjoyed last years’ Easter festivities at Centennial Vineyard like us, unfortunately they are not holding again this year. They have had quite a few Day on the Greens this year with another coming up this weekend and I think they have done their quota for the year!
Such a shame as it was such a great day for adults and kids last year – we were really looking forward to it again. Maybe next year!
